CLEARWATER, Fla., Oct. 15, 2018 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Fox Cities Convention and Visitors Bureau has broken ground on Wisconsin's most anticipated new youth sports projects. The Fox Cities Champion Center in Grand Chute, WI will be a 164,000 square foot indoor sports and events complex with two sheets of ice, 8 basketball courts, a bar/restaurant, and other multipurpose space. Designed to attract visiting teams, special events, and other programs that will fill local hotel rooms and provide economic boost to the area, the Center will position Fox Cities as a national competitor in the youth and amateur sports marketplace. The facility will be managed through a contract with the Sports Facilities Management (SFM).

The Champion Center is projected to generate $8.9 million in direct economic impact during its first year of operation and $12 million annually by its fifth year. The state-of-the-art facility will host numerous court and ice-based events each year as well as community-based leagues, open recreational time, rentals, camps, and clinics.
The Champion Center joins the SFM National Network, the nation's largest single network of sports tourism venues, and will benefit from SFM's deep industry connections with events rights holders, sports equipment and FF&E vendors, experienced operations professionals, and industry associations. Each year, more than 25 million guests visit SFM venues in locations across the continental United States for sports tournaments, local recreation programs, parties, group and special events.
