Himekawa Art Productions and SANYO Reveal Details about Music Video and Game for Marin; Comic and Animation in Planning Stages


LOS ANGELES, Oct. 15, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Akira Himekawa, known for their works on titles such as The Legend of Zelda and My Little Pony, in partnership with SANYO, one of Japan's largest pachinko producers, announced during New York Comic-Con 2018 a multimedia project for Marin, the idol mascot of the "Umi Monogatari" or "Sea Story" pachinko series.

Panels held on Friday, October 5 at both the Javits Center and at Pier 94, during the inaugural Anime Fest @ NYCC, revealed exciting details for the upcoming project by Himekawa Art Productions. Fans can look forward to the first two works, a comic to be helmed by Akira Himekawa and an anime, in the Spring of 2019. Work on the anime will be done in collaboration with Dynamo Pictures. Meanwhile, two more products, music videos and a mobile app game featuring Marin, are expected to be in production within the next six months.

"The production process has been different [with this first project]," said Akira Himekawa on the Marin project, "This time, it's not based on a manga, I created the character design and art first. We are going to keep producing even more with everyone in the team going forward."

Western fans can look forward to interacting with Marin in several new ways in the coming months.
