Delta Dental Community Care Foundation awards $50,000 grant to HACC Foundation

HARRISBURG, Pa., Oct. 12, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- The Delta Dental Community Care Foundation recently awarded the HACC Foundation a $50,000 grant to upgrade dental equipment in its dental clinic at the Harrisburg Campus of HACC, Central Pennsylvania's Community College.

HACC is a leader in health care education in Central Pennsylvania and has one of only 11 accredited dental hygiene programs in Pennsylvania and one of six accredited dental assisting programs offered in the Commonwealth. HACC also offers community-focused dental services in its dental clinic. Services are available to all surrounding community residents, including low-income children and adults who lack access to dental care.

"Our Foundation's mission is to increase access to quality dental care in underserved areas and we could not do so without dedicated partners such as HACC and the HACC Foundation," said Karen Robinson, vice president of corporate affairs for Delta Dental and executive director of the Delta Dental Community Care Foundation. "Together, we can make a lasting impact to improve the health and enhance the lives of children and adults in Dauphin County."

The grant is one of 54 given in Pennsylvania this year by the Delta Dental Community Care Foundation to help improve the oral health of disadvantaged children and adults by removing barriers to quality dental care. Since its inception in 2011, the Foundation has awarded more than $5.8 million in grants to organizations throughout Pennsylvania.
