Parkland Kids Buck the Odds by Winning Back to Back National Lacrosse Championships

PARKLAND, Fla., Sept. 25, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Before February, 2018, most people had never heard of Parkland, a charming little city, tucked quietly west of Boca Raton. While the whole country was focusing on the tragic events at the local Parkland high school, a small group of 12 and 13-year-old boys were doing their best to move forward with their plans to shock the lacrosse world this summer ? and they delivered. Meet the Team 91 Titans, the 2018 National Lacrosse Federation National Champions.

The Team 91 Titans made history in 2018 when Broward County recognized the team with a Proclamation, naming January 24, 2018 'Team 91 Titans Day' in Broward County. Presented by County Commissioner, Michael Udine, at the Tamarac Recreation Center, the proclamation was presented to the team for their undefeated championship wins in 2017 which included a National Championship Sweep at the famous Dick's Tournament of Champions held in Wesley Chapel, FL.

The team has gotten the attention of coaches from all over the country as the Titans' players are preparing for their high school lacrosse careers. The Titans compete on the national stage only and some players have been recognized in the country's most competitive events for their level of play, including: Alec Gregorek earning First Team All-World at World Series Youth Lacrosse, All American at Warrior All America Games and First Team All-Tournament at Dick's Tournament of Champions, Michael Evans who is known in the lacrosse world as "Spike" has earned All American at Warrior All America Games, First Team All-Tournament at Dick's Tournament of Champions, Marcus Acevedo earned Second Team All-World Honors at World Series of Youth Lacrosse, Matthew Evans earned MVP at Dick's Tournament of Champions after a nail biting goal in overtime in the championship game, Liam Gregorek earned First Team All-Tournament at Dick's Tournament of Champions for his 90% Faceoff win Average over 2 days of intense national competition. Chris Alexis earned First Team All-Tournament for his dominating performance at Dicks TOC. The Titans are going for their third run at a national championship next month at the IMG Academy where, once again, they will compete against the best U13 teams in the U.S.
