The Motz Group to Convert All Lou Berliner Sports Park's Infields to TriplePlay Synthetic Turf Systems

COLUMBUS, Ohio, Sept. 25, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- The Motz Group is partnering again with Columbus Recreation and Parks Department to convert the remaining 20 dirt infields at Lou Berliner Sports Park to synthetic turf. Lou Berliner Sports Park, the largest baseball and softball complex in the nation, boasts 31 total fields, 11 of which are already equipped with synthetic turf. Of those existing 11, Motz also will perform a synthetic turf replacement on four, officially equipping all infields with their proven TriplePlay Synthetic Turf System. With support from the non-profit volunteer board, B.A.T.S. (Berliner Action Team for Sports), this project will also include permanent outfield fencing and dugouts.

"Improvements to Berliner are improvements to Columbus," said Tony Collins, Director of Columbus Recreation and Parks Department. "The all turf infields will help drive economic impact and benefit our city by attracting the best sporting events in the country and continuing to provide an unsurpassed experience for local athletes. We are fortunate to work with great partners in B.A.T.S., and The Motz Group on this project."

Motz has been the synthetic turf provider for Lou Berliner Sports Park since 2012, when they converted four baseball and softball fields to synthetic turf, with three more conversions to follow. Since then, they have provided continued service and support. "The Motz Group appreciates our partnership with the B.A.T.S. and Columbus Recreation and Parks Department, and looks forward to delivering a new collection of high-performance, TriplePlay Synthetic Turf Systems to their state-of-the-art facility," said Chris Larbes, Field Consultant for The Motz Group. "These fields will host thousands of athletes annually, while enduring back-to-back play. Our team takes this very seriously, and is committed to providing safe, reliable sports surfaces for all of our clients."

The TriplePlay Synthetic Turf System, the high-performance product that will be used for the infields, is engineered with baseball and softball needs in mind. Built to deliver the most realistic play for the many athletes that will utilize the surfaces at Berliner, TriplePlay will also allow for a reduction in rain-outs and will keep their busy schedule on track.

Berliner is the latest in Greater Columbus to further enhance their facility by selecting The Motz Group. Other local Motz clients include Groveport Madison High School, Olentangy Liberty High School, Reynoldsburg High School, Hamilton Township High School, Otterbein University, The Ohio State University, and Fortress Obetz.
