Alternet Systems Announces 25 ReVolt Electric Motorcycle Order to Support Austin Texas Shared Ride Pilot

Alternet Systems, Inc. (USOTC: ALYI) today announced an order for twenty-five of its ReVolt Electric Motorcycles to support a planned inner-city shared ride pilot program in Austin, Texas. Austin Energy is a long-term leader in promoting the use of electric vehicles.Austin Energy started the Plug-In Partners campaign to convince automakers that a consumer market exists in the United States for electric vehicles. The planned inner-city shared ride program designed around ReVolt's stylish retro designed motorcycle with two saddle seats and a side car sees an exceptional opportunity well suited for Austin's lively South Congress and down town dining entertainment district and music festival venue. The initiative also plans to benefit from Austin's purchase rebate programs for two-wheeled electric vehicles .

Uber recently announced a shift away from cars to electric bikes and scooters for short inner-city trips. Inner-city electric scooter service providers such as Lime and Bird have already reached billion-dollar valuations. The North American market alone for electric scooters is expected to reach $795 billion by 2025.
