8th Annual Getzlaf Golf Shootout Benefiting CureDuchenne Presented by ActivePDF Raises Record-Breaking $562K

LAGUNA NIGUEL, Calif., Sept. 24, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- For the third consecutive year, ActivePDF, the leading provider of PDF automation solutions and technologies, presented the Annual Getzlaf Golf Shootout benefiting CureDuchenne. Hosted by Anaheim Ducks Captain Ryan Getzlaf, the 2-day event raised a record-breaking $562,000 to fund research and promising science to help find a cure for Duchenne muscular dystrophy.

The Getzlaf Golf Shootout began with a live auction on Sept. 7, at Time Nightclub in Costa Mesa, featuring cocktails and dinner. Among the many items up for auction was ActivePDF's donation of golf and dinner with Brand Ambassador and PGA TOUR winner Charley Hoffman. The once-in-a-lifetime experience went to Alex Cody, a Project Engineer from Costa Mesa, CA.

"I am a huge golf fan and I watch the PGA TOUR on a weekly basis," says Cody. "When I saw Charley Hoffman's name on the auction list, I realized this would be an awesome experience and at the same time would help make life more comfortable for many boys with Duchenne. I can't wait to play along side Charley and chat to him about the TOUR life. Being a big Ducks fan, I'm also looking forward to dining at Selanne's Steakhouse. It's going to be a ton of fun!"

The event continued on Sept. 8, at Monarch Beach Golf Links in Dana Point, for a fun-filled day of food, drinks, games, and a one-of-a-kind, celebrity golf tournament. Celebrities included many members of the Anaheim Ducks, former captain Teemu Selanne, former Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Charlie Hough, and many more. The ActivePDF street team was also on hand with prizes and fun giveaways.

"As presenting sponsor of the Getzlaf Golf Shootout benefiting CureDuchenne, I am extremely proud of the hard work and dedication put into this event," says Tim Sullivan, ActivePDF CEO and Chief Architect. "As an organization, CureDuchenne breaks the mold when it comes to managing charitable events because they mix genuine passion with smart business practices. Finding a cure for Duchenne is at the heart of all they do, yet they know how to attract reputable sponsors who are engrained in the local community.
