Movati Athletic Opens Fitness Club Doors to Victims of Ottawa-Area Tornado - Update

five area locations now open, offering complimentary passes for hot showers, Wi-Fi and use of facilities

OTTAWA, Sept. 24, 2018 /CNW/ - Movati Athletic, one of the Ottawa region's largest fitness club chains, has opened its doors to victims of the weekend storm and tornado, offering its facilities to non-members who want a hot shower, wireless Internet or access to fitness and recreational facilities.

"When we opened our first club in the Ottawa region seven years ago, the community welcomed us with open arms," said Chuck Kelly, CEO, Movati Athletic. "So we were pretty upset this weekend to see the property damage and emotional toll the storm inflicted on our neighbours and extended family."

"We opened our doors immediately this past weekend and have provided complimentary passes to more than 100 people already," said Kelly. "We're offering refreshments, our shower facilities, including towels, soap and shampoo, and high-speed Wi-Fi so people can avoid costly mobile data charges for work, school or to arrange for other basic needs. If they also want to work out or go for a swim at our gym, they can do that too."
