New One-Day Conference Launched to Further eDiscovery Education & Networking: eDEN

DALLAS, Sept. 24, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- As electronic discovery has matured into an essential step in most litigations, the knowledge required not just to conduct, but also to make the best use of eDiscovery, has grown beyond what many would have expected just a few years ago.

The new eDiscovery Education & Networking Event ? eDEN for short ? was created to meet that need. eDEN provides professionals in legal and related fields with a new forum not only to learn about the latest and most important industry developments, but also to meet, exchange ideas, discuss those developments and network with their peers experiencing the same challenges of staying current in this rapidly developing industry.

Presented by leading national eDiscovery and digital forensics provider BIA and hosted by the Association of Certified eDiscovery Specialists (ACEDS), eDEN is an in-depth, day-long symposium, to be held first in Dallas on October 10. eDEN will delve into the latest challenges facing the eDiscovery industry.

The day of learning includes four CLE-accredited seminars and an open discussion panel:

1. Risks & Responsibilities: The Ethics of Legal Holds
2. Preventing Wasted Costs in eDiscovery
3. Data Theft By Departing Employees: A Bigger Threat Than Hackers
4. Hot Topics in eDiscovery: IoT & Mobile Devices, Cloud Storage & Computing, Social Media Discovery, BYOD
5. Ask the Experts: Answers to Your Most Pressing eDiscovery Questions

BIA President and CEO Brian Schrader, Esq.; Senior Vice President of Advisory Services Barry Schwartz, Esq., CEDS; and Senior Vice President of Digital Forensic Services Jason Park, CCFP will lead the workshops, along with other legal practitioners and industry experts, including Kevin Clark, Litigation Support Manager at Thompson & Knight; Duane Lites, Director of Litigation Support at Jackson Walker; Gwen Higley, Staff Attorney at Jones Day; Matt Deegan, Senior Project Manager at Sidley Austin; and Erin Corbett, Forensic & Integrity Services Manager at Ernst & Young.

"As pioneers in the eDiscovery industry, BIA and ACEDS are proud to sponsor educational events to share our knowledge and expertise with other professionals in the field," said Schrader. "This event builds on the regular webinars we present together, and it will be a great opportunity for training, development and networking with colleagues in and around the Dallas area."

Participants will earn four CLE credits from the State Bar of Texas, including 1.25 ethics credits, upon completing the day-long training. Lunch will be provided to attendees. The event also includes a Q&A session and a complimentary cocktail hour following the event's conclusion. Registration is $65 ahead of time and $95 at the door and FREE for ACEDS members.

"Our organization has always been committed to furthering eDiscovery education, which is evident in the number of people in our Certified E-Discovery Specialist (CEDStm) certification program, including many BIA personnel," said Mary Mack, ACEDS executive director. "We are excited to be involved in this new event, especially as we launch our new Dallas chapter of ACEDS."
