Atlas Oil Wins USPS Supplier Excellence Award for Work Completed During the 2017 Hurricane Season

TAYLOR, Mich., Sept. 20, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Atlas Oil was selected as a Supplier Excellence Award winner through the United States Postal Service Supplier Performance Awards Program for their outstanding service to USPS throughout the 2017 hurricane season in an unprecedented quadruple emergency deployment.

Atlas Oil's emergency fueling assets at a USPS Post Office during the 2017 hurricane season.

"Our emergency fueling team worked collaboratively for several months with the team at USPS to make sure this invaluable service continued when people needed it most," commented Jayme Oyen.

Atlas has an obligation to provide a set amount of dedicated equipment to be provided to the USPS upon request to anywhere in the Continental United States.  During the 2017 hurricane season, Atlas "flexed" to provide as much as 5x the amount of equipment and personnel required by contract and extended coverage offshore to support needs in Puerto Rico following Hurricane Maria.

"The storms presented extraordinary logistical challenges, yet our drivers ensured USPS remained operational through it all," said Atlas Vice President of Business Development Jeremy Whiddon.

The Supplier Performance Awards have recognized outstanding contributions made to the success of USPS operations for over 25 years. Winners of the prestigious awards are selected on a variety of factors including helping USPS "achieve positive bottom-line savings, increased revenue or performance results and have consistently exhibited a collaborative business relationship with the USPS," according to the USPS website.

"The Atlas team worked 24/7 to ensure USPS remained operational in the face of some of the worst hurricanes this country has seen," said Atlas President Bob Kenyon. "I'm extremely proud to accept this award on behalf of the individuals who dedicated months of their time to make sure Americans affected by the storms still had access to USPS services."
