Allen Technologies Partnership with Samsung Brings Hospital Interactive Patient Engagement Solutions to Samsung Smart TVs

AUSTIN, Texas, Sept. 20, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Allen Technologies, the leader in interactive patient engagement solutions, announced today its second release of E3 Patient Engagement Solutions on the latest Samsung hospital-grade smart TV technology.

Allen released its first version of E3 on the Tizen platform in February 2018, marking the first interactive patient engagement system on Samsung's Tizen platform. Strong market reception to the initial release led to Allen's latest E3 release which brings even more interactive TV functionality to hospital patients.

Combining Allen's patient engagement, patient education and operational improvement capabilities with Samsung smart TVs enables hospitals to improve their patients' experience without investing in additional hardware or wiring, or time-consuming product installations. "We were excited to be able to help Samsung innovate the next generation of hospital TV solutions," said Mark Lancaster, chief financial officer and vice president of operations.

Incorporating Allen E3 into Samsung's Tizen platform builds on Allen's long-standing collaboration with Samsung for deploying interactive patient engagement on Samsung's hospital-grade televisions.

"The evolutionary shift from a simple TV set to a platform used to deliver crucial patient information demonstrates the necessity for our product to be an interactive device for the patient," said Jonas Tanenbaum, vice president of Samsung's Hospitality TV Division. "Coupled with Allen's interactive services, Samsung's smart hospitality TVs make it easier than ever for hospitals and other care venues to improve patients' satisfaction, well-being and overall experience."

By eliminating the need for a separate set-top box or other interactive hardware, the new E3 Solution on Samsung smart TVs dramatically reduces the cost for implementing an interactive patient engagement system. It is also faster to deploy, meaning less disruption in the hospital room.

"Allen's partnership with Samsung allows our R&D team to receive pre-production TV models to develop against so issues can be resolved before full-scale manufacturing. This reduces post-deployment problems and also gives Allen the opportunity to provide input on features and enhancements of most value to the end user, the hospital patient," said Alan Davis, vice president of technology with Allen. "The collaboration promotes streamlined development and support, creating a stronger end product which empowers patients to enjoy high-quality TV and interactive services."

The new solution is ideal for hospital new construction and renovations, as well as for facilities updating old or energy-inefficient technology.
