Potomac Announces the Sale of Guaranty Pest Elimination to Modern Pest Services, an Anticimex Company

PHILADELPHIA, Sept. 19, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Potomac Company today announced the acquisition of its client, Guaranty Pest Elimination of Danielson, CT, by Modern Pest Services, an Anticimex Company.

Guaranty Pest Elimination has been providing both residential and commercial pest control services in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and New York since 1989. Known as a customer-centric pest control solutions provider, Guaranty brings a strong brand and industry-leading client service to the Modern family. Guaranty was founded by Andy Kacavich in the early 1980s.

Scott Stevenson, President of Modern commented, "Guaranty is an important milestone in our growth. This is our third acquisition in Connecticut in 2018 which helps to further our reach and service area in an important growth market." Stevenson added, "Guaranty was an excellent fit for Modern, both in geographic territory and a culture that focuses on best in class client service. We are thrilled about this latest addition to the Modern family."

Andy Kacavich, President of Guaranty Pest Elimination commented: "It's a bittersweet and emotional day for me to walk away from the company that we built from nothing and all of the relationships that are such an important part of my life. I have a great deal of faith in Scott Stevenson, Dennis Dube and their team and being part of Modern will provide our team members with significant opportunities. Being present at the day of transition, and seeing the Modern team offer my service technicians an increase in their hourly wage was reassuring that they were people of their word. At the end, I feel like I made the right choice in Modern.

In regard to working with Paul Giannamore of The Potomac Company, no one in his field can compete with his knowledge or professionalism. I don't think Paul has anyone even close to an equal in his field of expertise. Not only is he the best at what he does but I can feel comfortable in saying, I truly trust him to always do what's right. In my own situation, he made the entire transaction so much faster and easier than I ever thought possible. Paul was not only able to get me the best price but also found us an acquirer that was the right fit for my people. Paul not only acted as my advisor on the deal but (at times) as my therapist."

Paul Giannamore, Managing Director of the Potomac Pest Control Group commented: "I am thrilled for Andy, his family and for the Guaranty team, there isn't a nicer, more genuine guy in the industry and it's rare to find someone who cares more for his people than Andy does. I've known Andy for a long time and being able to see him take advantage of the buoyant M&A market to move on to the next chapter of his life is one of the most satisfying aspects of my job.

Modern is one of the best run pest control companies in the world and this multi-state acquisition will provide the Modern platform with significant capabilities in Connecticut. It was great to work with the Modern crew once again even though I was on the other side of the table this time."

Paul Giannamore and Ericka Andes of The Potomac Company acted as exclusive financial advisors to Guaranty Pest Elimination. Mike Stanczyk of Lynn D'Elia Temes & Stanczyk LLC acted as legal advisor to Guaranty Pest Elimination.
