Coalatree's Most Sustainable, All-Purpose Camper Down Hooded Jacket Raises Over $50K in Half-a-Day on Kickstarter

SALT LAKE CITY, Sept. 19, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Breaking $50K in Half-a-Day, the new feature-loaded version of Coalatree's beloved featherlight, toasty-warm Camper Down Hooded Jacket broke its campaign goal within 12 hours of launch on Kickstarter ? and has raised more than $70,000 in the first 24 hours of the campaign.

"We're excited our campaign got off to such a great start, but we're also excited that more people will get to enjoy wearing this cool-looking, super lightweight jacket," said Coalatree Founder and CEO Jacob Charles Bessey. "The material we used for the Camper Down Hooded Jacket ensures you can wear the jacket and still move at pace as if it were summer, while incorporating technology to ensure you stay toasty even on the coldest winter days."

Made from recycled and upcycled materials, the Camper Down Hooded Jacket is an all-purpose jacket that combines the warmth and comfort of a down jacket with the style and function that makes it ideal for outdoor adventure, travel and city living. Since it can also be packed down into a tiny pouch for easy transport, or a comfortable travel pillow, the jacket is ideal for travel.

Windproof and water-resistant, the jacket is lined with strategic pockets for carrying gear and it's made with eco-friendly insulation. Its sleek, lightweight design makes it an "everyday, mountain-to-city must-have."

The jacket is designed with Duponttm ComfortMaxtm Fiberfill, a multi-layer padding for low temperatures that offers warmth down to minus-20 degrees Fahrenheit. This insulation provides up to five-times more insulation warmth than other similar fibers. Each layer of fiberfill weighs only five-to-10 grams, which provides multi-layer protection from the elements with superior performance.

Bessey said the previous retail success and popularity of the original Camper Down jacket prompted the company add new features to make it "improved and better than ever" for its reintroduction on Kickstarter.

The new design elements include multi-layer insulation with additional air pockets for increased warmth and performance. Also, a vapor-coated, durable water repellent (DWR) finish helps to keeps liquids at bay while retaining 93 percent of its warmth when wet. The jacket also has an antimicrobial finish ? allowing users to do more and wash less.

With plenty of zip pockets, an adjustable hood, and cuffs and hem, users can easily carry any gear while staying comfortable. If it happens to heat up outside, the jacket can be easily folded back into its own front pocket and stored until needed.

Coalatree Camper Hooded Jacket features include:

?    Reflective hood screenprint
?    Adjustable hood
?    Chin guard
?    Media pockets with headphone port
?    Internal stuff pocket (which fits a flask when not in use)
?    Quilted brick pattern
?    Adjustable hem

The Coalatree Camper Hooded Jacket is also sustainably made from bluesign®-approved and recycled materials, so users will know they are making a positive impact on the environment with every purchase.

Coalatree also contributes to the communities in which it works through its #Blanketstothehomeless Give Back program, providing surplus fabric to create warm blankets for the homeless in its hometown of Salt Lake City, Utah.
