Philadelphia OIC Announces Honorees for Community Leadership Recognition Reception


PHILADELPHIA, Sept. 19, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Philadelphia Opportunities Industrialization Center, Inc., a workforce development nonprofit organization dedicated to helping people living in poverty gain skills to change their lives, announced today that they will honor Robert F. Smith, Regional Vice President, Community Impact, Comcast and Rakia Reynolds, Founder & CEO, Skai Blue Media at the Community Leadership Recognition Reception also known as "Cocktails for a Cause" on Thursday, October 4, 2018. This event will be held at Bo Concept, 1719 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia from 6-9PM. Comcast is the presenting sponsor.

Cocktails for a Cause, a festive networking event, celebrates the accomplishments of regional giants in the Philadelphia market and the transformative work of Philadelphia OIC. The event is attended by professionals from various industries in Philadelphia including: banking, hospitality, utilities, communications, nonprofit and education. Attendees enjoy music, silent auction, passed hors d' oeuvres, and cocktails crafted by sponsors Ketel One and Crown Royal Regal Apple.

HONOREES

Robert F. Smith is a 28-year veteran of the cable communications industry. He joined Comcast in 1994 and has held leadership positions in government affairs, communications and community investment.

He has a longstanding relationship with Philadelphia OIC and works tirelessly to close the digital divide gap by providing computer and internet access to people that live in impoverished communities. He is an advocate for digital literacy and inclusion and has a genuine interest in helping people develop to their full potential.

Rakia Reynolds is a strategic communications industry expert and thought-leader of a non-traditional public relations agency. Her client list has included: Airbnb, Comcast, Dell, Morgan Stanley, Serena Williams, Ashley Graham, Global Citizen and Landit. She is an active member of NationSwell Council ? a network of innovators who are working together to develop impactful solutions for America's most critical issues.
