Moments of Change Conference to Facilitate Timely Discussion on Opioid Epidemic, Ethics in the Treatment Industry, Spurring Awareness and Education

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla., Sept. 19, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Foundations Recovery Network (FRN), is proud to continue its commitment to education by announcing the Moments of Change (MOC) conference will be held October 1-4 at The Breakers in West Palm Beach, Florida. This year's content covers some of the more pressing conversations surrounding the addiction treatment industry, including a presentation titled "Opioid Epidemic, the Origins, Our Failures and Hope for the Future" by former Governor of New Jersey and current Executive Chairman of Beach House Center for Recovery, Chris Christie.

The opening keynote session features a presentation titled "Ethics, Standards and How the Law Can Help End the Opioid Crisis." Doug Tieman, President and CEO of Caron Treatment Centers and Al Johnson, Chief Assistant State Attorney for Palm Beach County and leader of the Sober Homes Task Force will lead this discussion. Additionally, Dr. Romie Mushtaq will deliver a keynote presentation combining her knowledge and research behind neuroscience and mindfulness regarding how clinicians can avoid burnout.

In between the keynotes will be four days packed with presentations and an exhibit hall focused on exploring new and emerging modalities and proven approaches to substance abuse and co-occurring treatment. The event will also highlight breakthroughs in complex mental health disorders and process addictions. The primary goal of MOC is to equip treatment professionals and organizations to effectively meet the needs of specialized clients and demographics and to inform them of the latest business trends and topics impacting the industry. The conference will address Google's new ad regulations, handling different treatment populations and feature interventionist and compliance panels.

New this year, MOC is celebrating those who are making a difference on the front lines and furthering the cause of recovery in local communities. Foundations Recovery Network will be giving back to three local West Palm Beach organizations that are making a significant impact for people in need: Hanley Foundation, Stand Down and Speak Up for Kids. Attendees have the power to help send these charities home with a financial gift to boost the great work they're doing in Florida through a "Charity Challenge."
