Virginia Evans (Business Analyst / Revenue Cycle Development), DaNece Fickett (Surgical Services Director), and Melissa Maguire (CDI Educator), Receive 2018 Trust Builder Awards

SPRINGFIELD, Mo., Sept. 18, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- TrustHCS of Springfield, Mo. has named Melissa Maguire of Penn State Health, Virginia "Ginna" Evans of Emory Healthcare's Emory Clinic, and DaNece Fickett of Davis Hospital and Medical Center as winners of the 2018 Trust Builder Award. Communication, integrity, and interdepartmental leadership were key factors in naming the recipients of this year's awards. The 2018 Trust Builder Award winners will be featured in the TrustHCS booth #1337, at the 2018 American Health Information Management (AHIMA) conference in Miami, Florida, September 23-25, 2018.

2018 marks the second anniversary of TrustHCS' Trust Builder Awards, which recognize individuals who have successfully built trust among their peers and within their respective healthcare networks. These awards highlight the winners' expertise and growing influence in the fields of Health Information Management (HIM), Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI), and Revenue Integrity. This year, we introduced a new, peer reviewed nomination process, spearheaded by TrustHCS' CEO Torrey Barnhouse, and 2017 Trust Builder Award winners Seth Katz and Mark Schroeder.

CDI Manager Deanne Wilk nominated 2018 award winner Melissa Maguire, CDI Educator of Penn State Health. "Melissa is a team player and mentors our staff to build strong relationships, not only with each other, but providers, ancillary staff, and other departments," Wilk stated. Wilk's nomination also included details about Maguire's tireless efforts to encourage and improve CDI programs, coding roundtables, and provider division meetings.

Janyce House, preceding President of the Georgia Health Information Management Association (GHIMA) nominated Virginia "Ginna" Evans from Emory Healthcare's Emory Clinic for the Trust Builder Award in the category of Health Information Management (HIM). House pointed out that Ginna is currently the president elect of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA), works with physicians on workflow, processes, and documentation. In addition, Ginna previously served as GHIMA president, and has worked across all departments developing revenue cycle processes.

Deciding on just two Trust Builder Award recipients proved difficult because of the caliber of this year's nominees. Therefore, TrustHCS opted to make an exception and give a third award to DaNece Fickett, Comprehensive Joint Replacement Navigator for Davis Hospital and Medical Center. Lexie Stephens, Director of Quality and Risk for Davis Hospital and Medical Center nominated DaNece. "DaNece visits each patient the day of or the day after their surgery to follow up with them about their procedure and how they are feeling," said Stephens. "She takes patient care to the highest level and sets the example for other nurses."  DaNece's skills and attitude toward her work exemplify those of a true Trust Builder. She goes out of her way to make sure that, after each interaction, those around her feel cared for.

TrustHCS will honor each of the three 2018 Trust Builder Award winners with a $2,500 donation made to the charity of their choice in their name. The winners will be properly recognized for their achievements and contributions throughout the past year on the TrustHCS Trust Builder web page and will be presented with a personalized award to commemorate this accomplishment.
