Tired Of The Crowds On Texas Lakes? Buy Your Own 1,080-Acre Private Lake, And Get 1,165 Acres Of Beautiful, Undeveloped Land, And A Private Airstrip To Go With It

DALLAS, Sept. 17, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Most people considering a "place at the lake" look for a house that shares water with other homeowners.  Through October 12, buyers dreaming of the lake life have an extremely rare opportunity to purchase their own private lake, little more than one hour north of Dallas.  And this isn't a glorified pond.  At nearly 1,100 surface acres, the massive, pristine, private lake within Valley Lake Ranch is approximately the size of Dallas' White Rock Lake.  Including the surrounding, undeveloped acreage, the 2,245-acre property is roughly the same size as the City of University Park (and more than 2.5 times larger than New York's Central Park).  This unique combination of land and water, which would be nearly impossible--and prohibitively expensive--to recreate today, is priced at $24.5 million.

Hortenstine Ranch Company, a Dallas-based land and ranch broker, is accepting offers for Valley Lake Ranch through October 12.  A detailed property description and purchase criteria can be found at www.hrcranch.com.

"Set amongst scenic rolling terrain just miles south of the Red River, Valley Lake Ranch is a spectacular, natural oasis, with endless outdoor recreation possibilities, and many excellent build sites.  A property like this rarely comes on the market," said Cash McWhorter, Broker/Partner, Hortenstine Ranch Company.  "That it is located so close to Dallas, with easy access by road, nearby airports, or even its own private landing strip, makes Valley Ranch Lake an even rarer property, whether somebody wants to use it as their own personal sanctuary, create a unique, private club or consider other development possibilities."

Key Valley Lake Ranch features include:

The 2,770-foot Valley Dam, which forms Valley Lake, was authorized by the State of Texas in 1959.  Construction was completed in 1961 to provide a cooling water reservoir for the operation of the Valley Power Plant, which has since been decommissioned and demolished.  The property is currently owned by Luminant and offered for sale by Hortenstine Ranch Company, LLC.
