Golf Academy of America Hosts Successful Folds of Honor Fundraiser for Patriot Golf Day

DALLAS, September 17, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Golf Academy of America announced today that dozens of students and alumni participated in a Folds of Honor fundraiser held on the school's Dallas campus on September 6, 2018. Organized in recognition of Patriot Golf Day, the event raised hundreds of dollars to provide scholarships for spouses and children of those fallen or disabled during their service to America.

Organized by full-time PGA Instructor Rachel Lee, the fundraiser featured a short game challenge requiring participants to hit shots from 60 and 30 yards, as well as a putting challenge held at Golf Academy of America in Dallas' short game facility.

All participants received a Folds of Honor cup, and the winners - two Navy veterans, Andy Gaines and Jon Law, and one Army veteran, Jason Terry - received a Folds of Honor bucket hat and gift cards to the PGA superstore.

"We had a fantastic time honoring our veterans and veteran families at the Golf Academy of America in Dallas Folds of Honor fundraiser," said PGA instructor Rachel Lee. "After learning more about Patriot Golf Day, we thought it would be the perfect opportunity for us to recognize and honor the significant military population on our campus through working with the Folds of Honor Foundation. We hope that the funds raised will positively change the lives of those who have lost a loved one through their service to our country, and we hope to do the event again in the future."
