Union Gas Announces Transportation Open Season

Firm capacity between Dawn, Kirkwall and Parkway starting Nov. 1, 2021 and Nov. 1, 2022

CHATHAM, ON, Aug. 29, 2018 /PRNewswire/ - Union Gas is holding an open season for firm capacity of up to 350,000 GJ/d beginning in 2021 and up to 250,000 GJ/d beginning in 2022 along the following transportation paths:

A limited amount of capacity may also be available as early as Nov. 1, 2019. The open season runs from Aug. 29, 2018 through Oct. 12, 2018.

The open season offers firm access to not only the liquidity and diversity of the Dawn Hub, but also access to Appalachian supplies at the Dawn Hub and through the Niagara and Chippawa supply points. Customers in eastern Canada and the U.S. Northeast can access these supply points by aligning Union Gas transportation service with downstream pipeline capacity offered on TransCanada and other interconnecting systems in the United States and Canada.

The Dawn Hub is the largest integrated natural gas storage facility in Canada and one of the largest in North America. The Dawn Hub is fully integrated into the North American supply and transportation system providing shippers with the ability to access competitive, diverse and flexible supply options.

The Union Gas Dawn Parkway Transmission System is one of the most robust pipeline systems in North America and provides for the movement of natural gas from the Dawn Hub located near Sarnia, Ontario ? to the Greater Toronto Area, where it interconnects with other downstream pipelines serving eastern Canadian and northeast U.S. markets. Dawn and the compressor stations located along the Dawn-Parkway corridor have Loss of Critical Unit reserve horsepower coverage which provides firm service reliability.
