Enforcement Notice - Hearing - IIROC to hold Settlement Hearing for CIBC World Markets Inc. and Nelson Branch Manager Robert Trickey


VANCOUVER, Aug. 17, 2018 /CNW/ - A hearing has been scheduled before a Hearing Panel of the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada (IIROC) to consider whether the panel should accept a Settlement Agreement entered into between IIROC staff and CIBC World Markets Inc. and Robert Trickey.

The Agreement concerns the following conduct:

(a)  

CIBC World Markets Inc. failed to adequately supervise the activities of one of its registered representatives; and   

(b)  

Mr. Trickey failed to maintain adequate records of his supervisory activities.

 

IIROC formally initiated the investigation into the conduct of CIBC World Markets Inc. in June 2016. CIBC World Markets Inc. is an IIROC-regulated firm.

IIROC formally initiated the investigation into Mr. Trickey's conduct in September 2014.  The conduct occurred while he was a Supervisor at the Nelson, British Columbia branch of CIBC World Markets Inc. Mr. Trickey is currently a registered representative at that branch.

The hearing is not open to the public, but will become open in the event that the panel accepts the agreement. If the agreement is accepted, the Panel's decision and the Settlement Agreement will be made available at www.iiroc.ca.
