Minister Tassi wraps up successful visit to Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick to highlight commitment to seniors
GATINEAU, QC, Aug. 16, 2018 /CNW/ - Seniors are the backbone of our communities and play an important role in building a better society for future generations. That is why the Government of Canada remains committed to seniors across Canada so they can contribute to and share in the prosperity of the country.
Over the past week, the Honourable Filomena Tassi, Minister of Seniors, met with numerous seniors' organizations and with seniors, their families and caregivers in Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick to discuss and seek insight into issues seniors face in Atlantic Canada. The tour included visits to a continuing care facility, a community group, a Legion and many other organizations that serve seniors.
The Government of Canada continues to support seniors' organizations that seek to improve income security and access to affordable housing, promote healthy ageing and foster the social inclusion and engagement of all seniors.
