EASE Applications Enables Patient Updates to Reach Extended Family and Friends Anywhere in the World

ORLANDO, Fla., July 18, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- EASE Applications, creators of the EASE app (Electronic Access to Surgical Events) for updating families with HIPAA-compliant video, image and text messages, is alleviating communication burdens for families during stressful hospital stays. Known as "Snapchat for hospitals," EASE messages reach an unlimited number of selected people anywhere in the world interested in the updates as long as they have the app. This relieves the family of communicating updates to anxious family members that couldn't be at the hospital to support.

Traditionally, families are tethered to the waiting room anxiously yearning for updates and keeping everyone in the know during the patient's hospital experience. The expansive reach of updates not only improves the experience for the families, but also impacts the perception and reputation of the hospital nationwide, or even internationally in some cases.

Texas Children's Hospital, one of the nation's top pediatric hospitals, has seen messages reach people across the country, with updates provided to users in 38 states total, spanning 142 area codes in the past year.

Over the span of a year, Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children, in Orlando, Fla., was able to reach nearly 12,000 individuals with EASE updates, living in 48 states, across 280+ US area codes and 380+ international numbers.

"Hospital waiting rooms have hardly evolved, still consisting of uncomfortable chairs, old magazines and scared families. Waiting families feel chained to this environment too," said Patrick de la Roza, CEO of EASE Applications. "EASE frees families by allowing them to receive important updates no matter where they are. Many people who care deeply for the patient simply live too far away or cannot step away from their responsibilities to be at the hospital. EASE helps them feel more connected during a time of need."
