Cleveland Law Firm Hopes to Prevent Car Accidents by Offering $1,500 in Distracted Driving Scholarships


CLEVELAND, July 13, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- In 2016, almost 14,000 drivers were injured or killed as a result of distracted driving. Tittle & Perlmuter, a personal injury law firm based in Cleveland, Ohio, aims to bring attention to this serious issue. The firm is offering $1,500 in scholarships to lead the discussion about distracted driving while helping students achieve their educational goals at the same time.

Eligibility: The scholarship is open to high school seniors accepted to a university, college, or trade school, or students currently enrolled in a university, college, or trade school (or enrolled to begin by the Fall semester of 2018).

The Topic: To be eligible, students must submit a 750 ? 1500-word essay about a topic relating to distracted driving. All submissions are encouraged to address three topics: How big of a problem distracted driving is in the student's peer group, A specific example of distracted driving seen by the student, and Ideas on how the issue of distracted driving can be addressed.

To Apply: The scholarship essay must be submitted by email and attached as a Microsoft Word document. The email must include the name, mailing address, email address, and phone number of the student as well as the name of the enrolled school and area(s) of study. Entries must be submitted to [email protected] by August 1, 2018. The winner will be announced on August 10th, 2018 and will be notified by email.

Winners: A first and second place winner will be chosen by Tittle & Perlmuter. Prize amounts are as follows: First Place ? $1000, Second Place ? $500.

2017 SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS: First Place- Elijah Blakely, Junior at Bowling Green State University majoring in Visual Communication Technology. Second Place- Sarika Ram, Boston University majoring in Journalism and Political Science.

Tittle & Perlmuter, founded in 2015, is a personal injury law firm based in Cleveland, with additional offices in Elyria, Lakewood, and Chardon, Ohio.
