Slow Down & Move Over: Join Omadi in Helping Protect Our First Responders

LEHI, Utah, July 13, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, every day at least three people will die while working on the roadside. This epidemic affects every group working the "white line"?from road construction to first responders. These deaths could largely be avoided if the Slow Down & Move Over laws were abided by. Omadi, a software company for dispatching and tracking tow operators (based in Lehi, Utah), is hoping that their campaign, featuring a public service video will raise awareness of the laws and help first-responders get home safely.

The video campaign debuted July 10, 2018. It depicts the sacrifice tow operators and their families make every day. If the public follows the simple, yet crucial, steps of slowing down and moving over where possible, many casualties will be prevented. Charles Lukens, CEO of Omadi, commented that, "We hope that these efforts will curb the loss of lives by increasing public awareness."

Awareness for the Slow Down & Move Over laws is low and casualties are high. Omadi calls upon all motorists to participate in the movement by sharing the link (https://omadi.com/move-over/ use hashtags #SlowDownMoveOver and #SDMO), obeying the laws, and being an example to their families and friends.

In addition to Omadi's efforts, a national campaign is underway by American Towman Magazine and B/A Products called the Spirit Ride. "The 'Spirit' Casket pays tribute to First Responders who paid the ultimate sacrifice working the white line while promoting public awareness of the Move Over law" (American Towman Spirit Magazine). The casket is loaded on the back of a flatbed tow truck and followed by a procession of tow operators in their trucks. The Spirit Ride "baton" will be passed to Adam's Towing, an Omadi client, in SLC on Wednesday, July 11, 2018. Adam's Towing will transport the Spirit Casket from their headquarters to the Utah State Capitol. By year's end the Spirit Casket will have relayed in over 300 cities.
