New Association Regulation Means More Affordable Benefits for Small Business & Franchisees Through Gravie

MINNEAPOLIS, June 21, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- On Tuesday, the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) expanded access to affordable health coverage to small employers, franchisees, self-employed individuals, and members of associations and affinity groups through a new and improved Association Health Plan (AHP) regulation.

Gravie - Better Benefits for Employers and Employees (PRNewsfoto/Gravie)

Beginning this fall, the new regulation will make it easier for these groups to band together, by geography or industry, to purchase group health insurance as if they were a large employer. These benefits are typically less expensive, offer better coverage and provide access to a broader network.

Minneapolis-based Gravie has been at the forefront of providing better, more affordable health benefits and has worked with multiple affinity groups and associations and has a proven track record in this arena. A similar law passed in Minnesota this year allowed agricultural co-op members to band together to purchase group health benefits. Land O' Lakes partnered with Gravie to provide quality health insurance to thousands of farmers who have had limited, costly options in the past.

In addition to providing quality, affordable coverage to Land O'Lakes farmers, Gravie has served over 900 employers and over 62,000 individuals across the U.S. Gravie has a benefits solution in place specifically designed for beneficiaries of this new regulation and can help qualifying groups get their AHP up and running.

"We're excited for the opportunity to provide millions of individuals across America, who are struggling to find affordable health coverage, with a much-needed alternative," said Marek Ciolko, Gravie co-founder and COO. "Gravie's deep experience in establishing and running successful association health plans (AHPs) combined with our defined contribution platform and unparalleled customer service, make us an ideal partner for organizations looking to take advantage of the new regulation."

If you're interested in getting an AHP started through Gravie or for more information, send an email to [email protected] or call 844.540.8701.
