Quick Facts

The Traversée internationale du lac St-Jean, launched in 1955, is a 32-km open-water swimming competition between the municipality of Péribonka and the city of Roberval. Around 25 Canadian and international swimmers take part in the final event, held annually on the last Saturday of July.

The 64th edition of the Traversée will take place from July 21 to 29 and offer cultural, family and sporting activities, including concerts, visual art exhibitions, street performances as well as an open-air meal on a table stretching over a kilometre in length and capable of seating 10,000 guests.

More than 80,000 people are expected to attend over the nine days of festivities. This major celebration, with the active participation of 375 volunteers, allows over a hundred local artists and artisans to display their talent within their community.
