Military Veteran Kirstie Ennis Packs Oxigentm on Quest to Conquer North America's Highest Peak

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., May 25, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- U.S. Marine Corps veteran Kirstie Ennis is saving space for her Oxigen shots amongst the hundreds of pounds of gear she'll need to reach her goal of summiting Alaska's Denali next month.

Ennis, who's now 27, joined the Marines at 17. She lost her left leg in a chopper crash in Afghanistan in 2012 and says becoming an extreme athlete has been paramount to her physical and mental recovery. She credits Oxigen water and shots for taking her training to the next level.

"I've been training with Oxigen for months now and the added oxygen is making a huge difference for my endurance and recovery. There's no doubt," says Ennis. "We've got to get to over 20-thousand feet elevation in Alaska. We need all the oxygen we can get. And these little shots pack a massive oxygenated punch."

Kirstie and her climbing partner are summiting Denali to benefit nonprofit Building Homes for Heroes. The organization builds or modifies homes, and gifts them, mortgage-free, to veterans and their families. They start their ascent June 1.

"We know how incredibly important this climb is to Kirstie, to so many of the people she inspires daily, and to those whose lives will benefit from her work," says Blair Bentham, Oxigen Founder and CEO. "Being able to give her an advantage on her way to the top is exactly why we do what we do at Oxigen, exactly why we brought this product to market and want to share it with as many people as possible."

Oxigen water and shots are enhanced with oxygen using a highly stable, proprietary O4 oxygen molecule. The added oxygen is not O2, which is compressed gas and would slip from the bottle upon opening. Oxigen water packs 100 times more oxygen than regular water, while Oxigen shot is a concentrate with five times more oxygen than the water.

A 6-month, double-blind, placebo-controlled study published in the Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition shows Oxigen goes to work almost immediately clearing lactic acid from the blood and boosting the body's oxygen levels. As this happens, users experience faster recovery from exercise, enabling them to push harder and get back to training sooner. The benefits of added oxygen also include improved focus, faster recovery from jet lag, alleviation of hangover symptoms, and more.

Oxigen's two functional products are distributed throughout the U.S. As part of Formula Four Beverages Inc.'s active international distribution program, Oxigen water is also available in Mexico and the Middle East. The company is looking to continue to expand on an international basis.
