Media Advisory - Morneau Shepell and JED to share early results of joint international student study

Study results detailing psychosocial experiences of international students to be presented at the National Association of Foreign Student Affairs conference

CHICAGO, IL, May 24, 2018 /CNW/ - International students face unique challenges in today's education landscape. Morneau Shepell, a leading organization in international student support, and The Jed Foundation (JED), a leading nonprofit that exists to protect emotional health and prevent suicide for teens and young adults, partnered on a study to examine international student success and acculturation. The findings, which explore the effectiveness of pairing culturally and linguistically relevant digital programs with campus resources to support and improve student wellness and retention, will be released at the NAFSA Annual Conference and Expo in Philadelphia, PA on Wednesday, May 30, 2018.

During the session, representatives from Morneau Shepell, JED, University of Denver and University of California-Los Angeles, will discuss the international-student experience on varying scales, including the challenges faced by institutions in meeting the unique needs of their students. In addition to discussing the early results of the joint Morneau Shepell-JED study, presenters will also examine current literature that explores the value of innovative health tools to provide international students with dynamic avenues for support.

Morneau Shepell invites members of the media to attend the NAFSA Annual Conference and Expo to be among the first to hear the new research results. This event is open to media by invitation only.
