Spooky Ghost Boat Tour Haunts Wisconsin Dells All Summer Long

WISCONSIN DELLS, Wis., May 22, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- A spooky adventure on the Wisconsin River at night begins Memorial Day weekend when Ghost Boat: Journey into Haunted Canyon embarks for another summer full of frightful anticipation. The nocturnal journey begins at the main landing dock downtown Wisconsin Dells and heads into the night on the dark, rushing waters of the river to the mysterious destination ? Cold Water Canyon.

"Our summer Ghost Boat is a scary expedition to explore the dark side of the Dells," said Amanda McGowan, assistant manager of Dells Boat Tours. "On the cruise upriver, chilling tales set the stage for what may lie ahead in the shadowy recesses of the haunted canyon."

The intense 1½-hour excursion begins with stories of the area's ghostly past. The boat slowly plies the murky waters of the river as anticipation builds for what may be waiting in the shadowy gorge. The eerie stage is set as the Ghost Boat docks along the quiet shores of Cold Water Canyon. Draped in darkness, the cavern beckons to passengers to challenge their fears and walk into the unknown. At times, it's a near black out, the narrow pathway requiring a single-file approach as rocky cliffs close you in and an abyss of darkness adds to a truly intense adventure.

"Disembarking the boat to walk into a near pitch-black canyon is very unnerving," added McGowan. "Darkness is all around and it's either tackle your fears and walk in, or stay on the boat, possibly by yourself."

Visitors can get their creep on all summer long. Ghost Boat: Journey into Haunted Canyon kicks off Friday, May 25 of Memorial Day weekend with tours being offered May 25 ? 27 and June 2. Nightly Ghost Boat tours begin June 8 and run through September 2 of Labor Day weekend.

In the fall, nighttime belongs to the witches as Ghost Boat: Season of the Witch returns to Cold Water Canyon. Full of Halloween scares the fall Ghost Boat runs Fridays and Saturdays from September 7 through October 27.

All Ghost Boat adventures embark from the Dells Boat Tours' main landing dock, located at 11 Broadway in downtown Wisconsin Dells. Tours begin nightly at 8:30 p.m. with various departure times. Ghost Boat tickets are $25.00 for adults ages 12 and older and $18.00 for children ages 10 and 11. The excursion is not recommended for children age 9 and younger or those faint of heart. Discretion is left to parents and guardians for older children.
