FLORENCE, Ky., May 18, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Balluff's new IP69-rated inline universal connector was designed to withstand exposure to corrosive chemicals and pressure wash-down, making it ideal for the harsh environments found in food processing and pharmaceutical applications.
This universal connector module consolidates up to eight channels of digital inputs or outputs to a single four-wire sensor cable, offering lean connectivity to the devices in corrosive environments. This active I/O distribution module offers on-board diagnostics for per channel short circuit protection and over-current to help debug problems on the line. With its IP69 protection rating and ECOLAB certification, it can be exposed to harsh conditions without the need for cabinet space to host the module.
"Signal lights, pushbuttons, pumps, and valve terminals are often located away from the main control cabinet and in harsh environments. Routing more wires or adding cabinet islands are both costly solutions. This inline connector module, which does not require housing or cabinet space, brings data and power over a four-wire sensor cable to simplify the connectivity to the remote devices", said Shishir Rege, marketing manager for networking and IO-Link products at Balluff.
