Early Childhood Education Products Leader Sponsors 1 Million Crayon Drive

MONTEREY, Calif., April 23, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Colorations®, the premier proprietary brand of childhood educational products company Discount School Supply (www.discountschoolsupply.com), is proud to sponsor Crayon Collection's 1 Million Crayon Drive which commenced on Earth Day 2018.  The first of what will become an annual event will culminate on August 11^th with a back-to-school celebration on school campuses and Head Start Centers across California to recycle, repack and distribute 1 Million Crayons to over 1,000 Head Start and/or Title 1 school partners.  The Crayon Collection uses the process of repurposing gently used crayons - over 150 million crayons are thrown away each year by restaurants alone - as a relatable lesson to teach young children the benefits of recycling, reusing and reducing waste, and sharing with others less fortunate. The charity's efforts also help cut down on the $900 per year of personal income the average teacher spends outfitting his or her own underfunded classroom.

Children will participate by starting their own Crayon Collections in their neighborhoods and collect still-good crayons they no longer need from restaurants/their art supplies.
