Passion Connected, a profound original documentary covering the 2018 Paralympic Winter Games, to air on AMI-tv

TORONTO, April 19, 2018 /CNW/ - Accessible Media Inc. (AMI) announced today that Passion Connected, a one-hour original documentary detailing the 2018 Paralympic Winter Games and the experiences of some of the nation's most celebrated athletes, will premiere on Friday, April 27 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on AMI-tv.

AMI will also hold a free, fully accessible public screening of the documentary on Monday, May 7 at 7:30 p.m. at the Miles Nadal Jewish Community Centre in Toronto. Seating is limited and will be on a first come first served basis. The AMI team behind the documentary along with some of the athletes will participate in a question and answer session after the film.

Hosted by Anthony McLachlan, Passion Connected closely follows two Canadian athletes from their preparation for the Games right through to the emotional experience of representing their country on the world stage. Celebrated partially sighted para-alpine skier and two-time Paralympian Mac Marcoux, and 24-year-old para ice hockey defenceman Tyrone Henry, competing in his first Games, both share their journeys, along with exclusive interviews from para snowboarder Michelle Salt and Canada's most decorated winter Paralympian, Brian McKeever.

"Being on the ground in PyeongChang for the gold medal moments, heartbreaking losses and inspirational stories was surreal," says AMI Producer Ted Cooper. "It's an honour to share this with our audience so they can experience a fraction of the emotion, determination and passion that fuels our athletes every day."

In addition to interviews with athletes, Passion Connected provides a snapshot of accessibility in South Korea with activist Seoyoon Hong. The documentary also includes Integrated Described Video and is accessible to audience members with sight loss.

Passion Connected premieres Friday, April 27 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on AMI-tv and will be available to stream online at AMI.ca or on the AMI app after the initial broadcast.
