Roche Diabetes Care Launches the Accu-Chek Guide System and the Unique Spill-Resistant Smartpacktm Vial

Accu-Chek® Guide; Simply Smart

MONTREAL, April 19, 2018 /CNW Telbec/ - In 2016, an estimated 11 million Canadians were living with diabetes or pre-diabetes, while Roche Diabetes Care worked tirelessly to provide an innovative solution that would meet their needs. For diabetics, it is very common to try to get the test strip out in a hurry. Testing discreetly when it's too dark to see, missing the small blood application area, or jotting down test results by hand can be really challenging. At Roche Diabetes Care, they truly believe that it is often the little, simply smart change that can make a big difference in diabetes management. That's why, today, the company is proud to present its latest technology in blood glucose self-monitoring: the Simply Smart Accu-Chek Guide system and its unique spill-resistant SmartPackTM vial.

Introducing the simply smart ACCU-CHEK® Guide system (CNW Group/Citoyen Optimum - Montréal)

With its advanced technology, its innovative container and a widest application area, this new pocket-friendly SmartPackTM is specially designed to reduce the hassle of everyday blood glucose testing ? whether you're on your way to work, enjoying yourself outdoors or spending time with your family. While the strip ejector keeps things quick, easy and hygienic, the Strip Port Light of the Accu-Chek Guide avoids ending up in a situation where the test strips must be inserted in the dark or in a low light.

"Living with diabetes can be challenging and complicated, which is why we are excited to launch the new Accu-Chek Guide system combining simple advancements and true innovation to provide a better testing experience. For those who need to test their blood glucose every day, they need a system that will be effective at every step ? from the moment the strip is removed from the vial, to the application area ? and how it is important to not miss it ?, to the display of the results. Our system is smart and easy to use. This is why Roche Diabetes Care is really proud to invite you to discover the benefits of the new spill-resistant SmartPackTM. It's the little changes that make a big difference," explains Guido Michel, Country manager at Roche Diabetes Care.

The Accu-Chek Guide system will help patients simplify the most frequent tasks needed to manage their diabetes. Smarter than gravity, the new SmartPackTM vial ? with its innovative strip container ? is designed to hold strips tightly in place, even upside down, making it easier to remove one strip at a time. Also, the new strip design, with the widest1 dosing area on the market makes it easier and faster to dose a small amount of blood. And recent studies show that 93% of patients find Accu-Chek Guide strips easier and faster to dose, and 88% of patients agree it is easier to remove a strip from the SmartPackTM compared to standard round vials. 2
