Chinese Dr. Fang Yuan Shares Dry Eye Genome Sequencing Discoveries

GRANTS PASS, Ore., April 19, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Date aired: April 9th, 2018

Guest: Dr. Fang Yuan, M.D., Ph.D.

"Water is your life!" claimed Sharon Kleyne, host of the nationally syndicated radio program, The Sharon Kleyne Hour Power of Water, Global Climate Change and Your Health on VoiceAmerica sponsored by Nature's Tears® EyeMist®. "Water is our most powerful nutrient."When this nutrient decreases in the eye's tear film," said Kleyne, "then dry eye disease results." Joining her from China as her on-air guest, Dr. Fang Yuan agreed. "Dry eye is like a virus in the eye," Kleyne said.

"When someone has a dry eye," Dr. Yuan added, "one doesn't feel comfortable. Other parts of the body suffer because everything is connected." Yuan added that "Nature's Tears® EyeMist® is the best way to put more water into your eye's tear film, supplementing what is lost through evaporation."

Dr. Yuan, Chair and CEO of a major bio-tech research center in China, began his career as a neuroscientist studying the human brain and the eye. During his graduate studies in the U.S., he gradually grew more interested in genome research and science. Pursuing that course, Yuan took part in the 10-year Genome Sequencing Project, in which more than 400 countries participated. Yuan also took part in the second generation of the sequencing project. This research led to more accurate and effective detection of diseases. Much research, for example, as well as Chinese government funding, have helped to curb the spread of ebola in Africa. Kleyne, also the founder and research director of and research director of Bio-Logic Aqua® Research Water Life Science® in Grants Pass, Oregon, wondered about the role of water, or its absence, in the Ebola crisis. "Absolutely," Yuan exclaimed, "water contamination contributes to Ebola outbreaks.

Yuan and Kleyne agreed that water is essential to good health, and that the lack of fresh water can contribute to weakened immune systems that invite outbreaks of sickness and disease. "There must be enough water to support the function of the cells," said Yuan. Kleyne pointed out that in Nigeria, people were being given one-and-a-third gallons of water to drink every day, and that the water was spiked with a spoonful of sugar and a spoonful of salt. The result was surprising. Outbreaks of Ebola were reduced and the spread of the disease was checked. "This attests to the power of water in fighting sickness and disease," said Yuan.

"Water is the breath of life," said Kleyne. "Your body is like a living battery that must be supplemented every day with fresh water."

Were you aware of the international Genome Studies before you read this article? How much water do you drink every day?
