Versiti names new EVP & Chief Operating Officer

MILWAUKEE, April 17, 2018 PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Versiti, Inc., a healthcare organization focused on improving the health of patients and enabling the success of its health care partners in the fields of transfusion medicine, transplantation and blood related diseases, has named Brian Bautista Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. As part of Versiti's executive leadership team, Bautista will be responsible for the leadership of blood operations across Versiti's blood centers in Indiana, Illinois, Michigan and Wisconsin.

As Chief Operating Officer, Bautista will provide oversight for all Versiti blood operations, including blood collections, quality, inventory management, logistics and distribution. He will also be responsible for regulatory compliance in accordance with internal and external regulations and industry standards.

Bautista brings more than 18 years of experience in healthcare with a focus on patients and providers. Bautista comes to Versiti from Shire, formerly Baxalta, where he served as Area Vice President, leading a team of national and regional managers and directors overseeing multiple brands within the area of integrated health systems/hospital/acute care. He also led strategic planning for immunology products, as well as multiple marketing efforts in the areas of population health management, strategic contracting and clinical education.

Bautista holds a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Pharmacy. He earned his MBA from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management.
