From April 5 to 12, CHU Sainte-Justine is highlighting innovation through 200 activities featuring more than 130 agents of change

MONTRÉAL, March 21, 2018 /CNW Telbec/ - The 2018 edition of the Semaine de la qualité et de l'innovation of the Centre hospitalier universitaire (CHU) Sainte-Justine will take place from April 5 to 12, 2018. For six days, the mother-child centre in Montréal, in collaboration with its several partners, will highlight its fundamentally innovative nature. Healthcare professionals, network and industry partners, education professionals, patients and families will come together to celebrate all forms of innovation.

This major happening on quality and innovation will be held at the atrium of the new CHU Sainte-Justine building and neighbouring spaces. In total, more than 200 projects, workshops and conferences will be presented by more than 130 participants from various areas, such as health, research, education, visual arts, music, dance, design and the industry.

"The strength of such a week lies in the gathering of agents of change from various backgrounds, having them learn from each other how to build even greater quality and innovation to improve the health of our population," says Dr. Fabrice Brunet, Chief Executive Officer of CHU Sainte-Justine. "Other avenues for progress can thus emerge in the search for solutions that are increasingly adapted to the needs of the clients we serve."

Quality and innovation take centre stage!

Six major themes will be covered in that many days. April 5 will be dedicated to technological innovation, omnipresent in health, whether in biomedical engineering, information and communications technologies or simulations. Collaborative innovation will take the stage on April 6, with a presentation of ecosystems where the creativity of teams from various sectors is put at the service of health. The day of April 9 will focus on the very current issue of the important role nurses play in society, through women and men with exceptional journeys.

Bringing hope, personalized health will be at the heart of the discussions on April 10, and April 11 will be dedicated to innovation without barriers. It will be the opportunity to present promising cross-initiatives.  The week will end on April 12, a day in which patients and families will be placed at the heart of innovation. They will take part in the Justinethon, planned in cooperation with Hacking Health, co-creating innovative care tools.
