National Council of Legislators from Gaming States to Install New Officers from Indiana, Massachusetts, Nevada

CLEVELAND, March 20, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- The National Council of Legislators from Gaming States (NCLGS) is expanding its slate of officers to include veteran lawmakers from Indiana, Massachusetts and Nevada. Ohio Sen. William Coley, a longstanding officer, will be elevated to serve as NCLGS President. Delaware Rep. Helene Keeley, a former NCLGS president, will remain as Vice President.

The new NCLGS officers are:

• Rep. Jennifer Benson, who has served in the Massachusetts House of Representatives since 2009. She serves as House Chair of the Joint Committee on State Administration and Regulatory Oversight.
• Sen. Jon Ford of Indiana, a businessman, who was elected in 2014 to represent District 38 in the Indiana General Assembly. He serves on the Public Policy Committee, among others.
• Assemblyman Keith Pickard of Nevada, a businessman and practicing attorney in the areas of real estate and family law, who was elected in 2016 to represent Nevada Assembly District 22 in Henderson.  He serves on the Judiciary and Taxation committees, among others.

The NCLGS Summer Meeting will include policy discussions on sports betting, online gaming, lotteries, pari-mutuel wagering, responsible gambling, and the economic impacts of tribal and commercial gaming. The International Masters of Gaming Law (IMGL) will again present two Masterclass discussions on related topics.

NCLGS is a non-partisan organization of state lawmakers that meets on a regular basis to discuss issues in regard to gaming. NCLGS does not support or oppose gaming, but supports effective regulation and sound state policies.
