Coalfire Named Semifinalist in the 2018 Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Awards

WESTMINSTER, Colo., March 20, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Coalfire, a trusted provider of independent cybersecurity advisory services, announced today that the company has been named a semifinalist in the 2018 Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Awards. Coalfire has earned this recognition due to its outstanding support for its National Guard and Reserve employees.

The Freedom Award began in 1996 by Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), and to date, only 250 employers have received the award. Coalfire was one of 149 selected semifinalists nationwide. The semifinalists were chosen from over 2,300 nominations submitted by Guard and Reserve personnel. The selected semifinalists are from large and small private employers as well as government organizations, representing a variety of industries across the United States. The organization's national review board will announce the 30 finalists in the coming weeks.

The ESGR's National Selection Committee will recommend 15 recipients to the Secretary of Defense, who will present the Freedom Awards at a ceremony at the Pentagon on August 24, 2018. The ESGR is a Department of Defense office established in 1972 to gain and maintain employer support for Guard and Reserve personnel.
