Pace Academy to Wear VICIS ZERO1 Helmets in 2018 Football Season

SEATTLE, March 20, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Pace Academy announced today that they will equip their Varsity and JV football programs with the VICIS ZERO1 helmet for the 2018 season. The ZERO1 is the top-ranked helmet in the National Football League (NFL) and National Football League Players Association (NFLPA) helmet performance testing.

Last season, the first for the ZERO1, players on 18 NFL teams and 20 top NCAA programs wore the advanced helmet. Pace Academy's decision to equip its team in the ZERO1 is part of a larger, ongoing commitment for student safety throughout their athletics program. Pace is committed to outfitting their athletes with the most technologically advanced equipment available.

"When our student-athletes take the field, we want to arm them with the knowledge to play the game the right way and the equipment to protect them while doing so," said Chris Slade, Pace Academy Head Football Coach. "This dedication to safety is why our players will be wearing the ZERO1 helmet this season."

Originally introduced to NFL and NCAA teams, the ZERO1 is now available to high school programs for the 2018 season. The ZERO1 is the most technologically advanced helmet on the market, designed to reduce impact forces with a highly engineered structure that differs from traditional football helmets. The ZERO1 has a deformable outer shell and a unique columnar layer designed to slow impact forces like a car bumper.

"Our team has worked hard to bring the ZERO1's breakthrough technology to high schools this season," said Dave Marver, VICIS CEO and co-founder. "We are proud to help Coach Slade and the Pace Academy football program protect their athletes and elevate their performance."

VICIS recently took advantage of lower production costs to reduce the price of the ZERO1 and make it more accessible to high school programs ? part of a continued effort to make the safest helmet on the market available to as many athletes as possible. Pace Academy's purchase of the ZERO1 helmet follows the launch of the VICIS online marketplace. All helmets ordered by March 30, 2018 will be delivered by July 31, 2018. Quantities are limited, so individuals and teams are encouraged to place orders as soon as possible.
