CarLabs Taps Former Carfax Executive As Its VP Business Development


LOS ANGELES, March 19, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- CarLabs, the premiere creator of AI-powered digital assistants for the automotive industry has hired former Director of Automotive OEM Partnerships at Carfax, Joseph Schumacher as Vice President of Business Development.  CarLabs currently works with automakers to create white-labeled digital assistants by applying artificial intelligence and natural language processing to an automotive brand's existing data.

Schumacher will leverage his 25 years of automotive industry expertise to strengthen CarLabs' OEM sales and product development efforts.  Most recently, CarLabs created Kia Motor America's "Kian," a digital assistant that provides automated sales and customer service support on Kia.com and on Facebook Messenger.  Kian produced a 50-fold increase in engagement on Facebook Messenger and continues to significantly improve conversion rates on key shopping actions, as well as augment live customer service.

Schumacher will lead efforts to increase adoption of CarLabs' current suite of solutions, as well as identify new opportunities throughout the vehicle ownership lifecycle. Current solutions focus on automating online sales and customer service, increasing ROI on digital ad campaigns, improving website conversion rates, capturing real-time customer feedback and automating response improvement.
