Herzig discovered her love of playing the piano at the age of ten and since that time, has traveled the globe, bringing her jazz piano talents to music lovers everywhere. She has released more than a dozen CDs that have earned her several awards including a Down Beat Magazine Award for 'Best Original Song' in 1994. Her newest project, 'SHEroes' features the world's leading female jazz instrumentalists, including Leni Stern, Jamie Baum, Ingrid Jensen, Jennifer Vincent, Ada Rovatti, Mayra Casales, Reut Regev, and more and is slated for release March 23, 2018 via Whaling City Sounds. In addition to supporting her new album 'SHEroes', Herzig will organize and present Jazz Girls Days ? a concept initiated by SFJazz five years ago ? for the first time in Indiana. The events will take place in Indianapolis and South Bend featuring some of the world's leading female jazz performers such as Jamie Baum and Leni Stern in addition to regional leaders. Female jazz students ages 12-18 are invited for a free day of clinics, discussions, and mentorship. The events will be combined with a series of concerts between March 8-12, more info and signup links at www.monikaherzig.com.

"I've had the chance to play all different types of keyboards from every brand, but once I was able to get the Casio Privia under my fingers, it was literally the solution to all of my problems," said Herzig. "Having built-in sound allows me to gig without the need for an amp in acoustic settings, the keyboard is light-weight and the quality is amazing. The Privia line of keyboards is one that I'll continue to use moving forward."

Herzig currently owns and uses Casio's Privia PX-560; it will also be utilized on her upcoming release tour, which takes place from April 9-16. The PX-560 features Casio's renowned Tri-Sensor Scaled Hammer Action II keyboard, which accurately reproduces the touch and response of a concert grand piano. The PX-560 is not just a highly capable stage piano, but a full-fledged synthesizer. The PX-560 features Casio's Hex Layer technology, borrowed from the flagship Privia Pro PX-5S. This means musicians can create massive splits and layers, with four zones and a total of 14 layers at once. Additionally, this keyboard features a 256-note polyphony, 600 preset tones, 400 user tones and 20 programmable insert effects, among many other features.

"Monika Herzig embodies everything we look for in a musician partner," said Stephen Schmidt, vice president of Casio's Electronic Musical Instrument division. "Her dedication to not only performing as a decorated jazz pianist, but to the students she teaches and impacts at Indiana University, easily makes her an artist we are proud to have on our roster and will continue to work with. By using Casio keyboards, we hope she continues to create music for people far and wide."

Herzig is part of the current roster of Casio artists including Anthony Patterson, Roshon, ThunderSOUL Orchestra, Rachael Sage, Aaron Todd, Tom Brislin, Eldar Djangirov, and more.
