CL-WV Holdings, LLC (CLWV), has entered into a Research and Development Services Agreement with Xerox Research Centre of Canada (XRCC)

COLUMBIA, Md., March 6, 2018 /CNW/ -- CLWV has contracted XRCC to further develop technology related to synthesizing diamond, graphite, graphene and other carbon forms. Some key advantages to CLWV's technology, which has been licensed under an Exclusive License Agreement from West Virginia University Research Corporation, are the ability to produce a distinctive form of carbon at room temperature and normal pressure, as well as the ability to produce hydrogen and solid carbon from natural gas, methane and other hydrocarbons. Three US patents have been issued surrounding the technology, together with corresponding international patents. Most recently issued is a US patent for low temperature, low pressure synthesis of graphene, diamond, and other carbon forms.

Rich Duafala, Managing Director of CL-WV Holdings commented, "We hope to optimize and scale-up our process so that we can provide potential customers with material for testing and further application development. We believe that our novel process will allow us to provide commercial scale processing of customized carbon forms that may exceed the quality, characteristics, and performance of what's on the market today, and at a lower cost.  Another area of development for us is the clean production of hydrogen that may be co-produced with our carbon materials.  We are very excited to work with Xerox Research Centre of Canada and believe XRCC's leadership in process optimization and scale-up of advanced materials, state of the art facilities, and proven track record, will be a tremendous asset for advancing CLWV to commercialization."

The Xerox Research Centre of Canada (XRCC) is home to a world-class team of scientists and engineers with over 40 years of industrial research and development expertise. XRCC recently opened its R&D facility to work for third party companies to accelerate their materials-based R&D, process engineering, scale up, and testing activities on a fee-for-service basis. XRCC has strong capabilities in polymer, resin and industrial chemical synthesis, engineered particles and nanoparticles production, dispersion and formulation development for inks and coatings, and printed electronics materials and processing demonstration. XRCC is committed to helping companies reduce their time-to-market by helping scale early-stage technologies.

CLWV is planning to develop a commercial production facility in the western Mid-Atlantic region to take advantage of that area's expansion and growth of resources and manufacturing. CLWV is also exploring the potential of developing smaller modular systems that may be located anywhere in the world.
