The Mountain Kicks Off New "Protect" Line

KEENE, N.H., Feb. 26, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- The animal lovers at The Mountain, the global artwear leader, are launching a fresh, new line designed to support efforts to save global at-risk animals.

The Mountain Logo

The Mountain's Protect line of apparel and accessories features charismatic and alluring illustrations of the world's most vulnerable, threatened or endangered species. From pandas and polar bears to big cats, the Protect line opens a unique fundraising opportunity for conservation organizations advocating for the safeguarding of these magnificent creatures.

The Protect line has evocative images of eight mammals, one reptile and one insect on tri-blend T-shirts, spun-poly tote bags, 15-ounce coffee mugs and mesh-backed ball caps. The shirts, bags and mugs are tagged with calls to action like "Littering Kills" and "Be My Voice."

Since its inception in the 1990s, The Mountain has been committed to environmentally friendly production and natural resource protection. Making products that serve a higher purpose has been a part of The Mountain's corporate culture for the better part of a decade.

"This program dovetails with the conservation ethic we've cultivated here and gives our customers a way to pitch in for important on-the-ground efforts," said Kenny Ballard, CEO of The Mountain.

The Mountain is partnering with seven non-profit conservation organizations. A percentage of Protect sales will be earmarked for Pandas International, the African Wildlife Foundation, Panthera, Polar Bears International, the Sea Turtle Conservancy, the Honeybee Conservancy and Whale and Dolphin Conservation.

Several high-profile museums and aquariums recently picked up segments of the Protect line for sale in their souvenir shops including Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium, Saint Louis Zoo, Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, Zoo Atlanta, Zoo Knoxville and Lincoln Park Zoo.

The Mountain's entire Protect line will be available direct to consumers in mid-March at www.themountain.com.
