Invesco Canada announces enhancements to Platform Traded Fundstm offerings

Also announces risk rating changes

TORONTO, Feb. 23, 2018 /CNW/ - Invesco Canada today announced it is enhancing the offering of its innovative Platform Traded Fundstm (PTFs), effective March 12, 2018.

Designed for fee-based accounts, PTFs are unique in that they transact and settle just like listed securities or exchange-traded funds. Developed by Invesco Canada and introduced in 2015, the goal was simple: to deliver active investment management at a cost comparable to institutional pricing. PTFs offer low-cost actively managed portfolios to clients with fee-based accounts.

PTF enhancements
The fixed-rate expense fees on all PTFs will be reduced. These fixed fees partially cover the operating expenses of the funds. Any operating expenses beyond these amounts are paid by Invesco Canada.

PTFs provide the following benefits:

Lower cost: This delivery process for active management materially reduces management fees versus traditional Series F mutual funds. These savings are passed on entirely to investors.

No minimums: There are no minimum investment thresholds to meet. All investors benefit from the same low management fee, regardless of the size of their portfolios.

Bulk trading: PTFs may be bulk traded. Dealers can leverage existing functionality within their equity order management systems, thus allowing purchase and redemption orders to be made across multiple client accounts at the same time for PTFs.

Note on MER reporting
The fee reductions described above will not be immediately reflected in the published management expense ratio (MER) for any given PTF.

MERs are based on the fees applied during the previous calculation period. They are calculated and published twice a year ? on June 30 and December 31 for funds with a December 31 year-end, and March 31 and September 30 for funds with a March 31 year-end.

As such, published MERs will fully reflect the lower fees on June 30, 2019 for funds with a December 31 year-end, and on March 31, 2019 for funds with a March 31 year-end.
