Cannabis Industry Leaders and All Three Levels of Government Converging at Conference in Calgary on March 2nd and 3rd


CALGARY, Alberta, Feb. 23, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Cannabis Canada will be hosting its National Educational Conference & Business Opportunity Forum and Trade Show in Calgary on March 2 and 3, and for the first time in Canadian cannabis conference history, all three levels of government will be in attendance and making presentations along with cannabis industry executives.

"Senior leaders from many of Canada's ACMPR licensed producers will be at the conference along with some of the country's top cannabis policy makers from three levels of government," says Conference Chair, Howard Silver. "We expect to see vigorous discussions about how policy decisions will impact business operations, as well as great insights into how government intends to approach recreational cannabis legalization."   

The conference will feature a Keynote Luncheon in partnership with the Calgary Chamber of Commerce, which will kick off with an address from Finance Minister, Honourable Joe Ceci. The Minister's address will be followed by a President's Panel discussion with MJBiz CEO, Cassandra Farrington, Canopy Growth's Founder and CEO, Bruce Linton, Aurora Cannabis CCO, Cam Battley and Sundial Executive Chairman, Ted Hellard.  The Keynote Luncheon requires a separate ticket that can be purchased through the Calgary Chamber of Commerce at www.calgarychamber.com

Following the Calgary Chamber of Commerce Luncheon, there will be a legislative update on the Calgary Herald Workshop stage, featuring: Alberta Cannabis Secretariat Executive Director Community Engagement, Kim Capstick; AGLC Vice President of Regulatory Services, David Berry; and City of Calgary Business Strategist for Cannabis, Matt Zabloski. Representatives from Health Canada will also be in attendance.

The business conference will take place at the Calgary Telus Convention Centre on Friday, March 2nd and will include sessions such as Cannabis 101, Cannabis in the Workplace, Business Opportunities in the New Private Retail Environment, a Presentation about the Colorado Recreational Cannabis Experience and Top 10 Predictions for Cannabis in Canada for 2018.

On Saturday, March 3rd, the consumer focussed #cannabiscon tradeshow and job fair will educate and present opportunities in the cannabis sector. The day will include an exciting line up of events, keynote speakers and entertainment. Attendees will also be able to connect directly with licensed producers, legal cannabis clinics, find business and investment opportunities and jobs in the cannabis sector.
