Lockwood Again Selected by the Hartford Business Journal as One of the Best Places to Work in Connecticut

STAMFORD, Conn., Feb. 23, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- The Lockwood Group (Lockwood), a science-based medical communications agency, was recently named to the 2018 Best Places to Work in Connecticut list by the Hartford Business Journal. This is the fourth year in a row that Lockwood has been selected for this honor.

The award recognizes companies that have been successful in creating and maintaining workplace excellence. The winners were determined through a survey conducted by The Best Companies Group that ranked businesses in Connecticut with the most satisfied employees.

The agency, led by President and CEO Matthew Schecter, is especially proud of this year's award, as the company has grown to be one of the largest privately held agencies in the industry. The group has grown to more than 175 people, with over a third holding advanced scientific or medical degrees, an especially rare accomplishment in today's competitive marketplace.

"To find so many exceptional scientific minds, who also understand the client's objectives and can craft an effective story, in one agency is truly remarkable and a testament to the culture that Lockwood has created," says Ramana Yalamanchili, PhD, GVP, Scientific Services at Lockwood.

Four-time winner Lockwood collaborates with clients in the pharmaceutical, biotech, genetic, and medical device industries to identify effective, holistic, science-based strategies to address their objectives through medical communications. For the ultimate benefit of patients, Lockwood helps clients advance their objectives in a world of new regulations, business models, payment approaches, technologies, roles, and work practices.

The team at Lockwood has seen significant growth in the last eleven years, and attributes its success to hiring and retaining team members who go above and beyond for their clients. "Company growth is being driven largely by Lockwood's ability to hire and retain the best team members, especially important given a less than 2% unemployment rate for college-educated professionals," says Schecter.
