Network Services Provider on Long Island, Server Bays, Explains 3 Features of VoIP

SAYVILLE, N.Y., Feb. 21, 2018 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- To help businesses get the most out of their VoIP phone system, Server Bays, a provider of network services in Long Island, breaks down three VoIP phone system features most professionals have available but don't use.

There are basics, which everyone must have when using VoIP phone systems, and then there are extras, which are nice to have. When it comes to VoIP phone systems, there are far more features available than most professionals realize or use.

The basic features all users of VoIP phone services will want to use include voicemail, call waiting, call forwarding, remote operation, and toll-free numbers.

To get more out of your VoIP system, consider using the following features:

1.    Door/Phone integration. If you have a door buzzer, you can setup your VoIP system to allow you to have a two-way dialogue with whomever rings the buzzer. You can then unlock the door using your phone. This feature replaces the need for a doorman, and in some cases, a security agent, which can save your business money.

2.    Call routing. In most cases, contacts will reach out to you during business hours at your regular office number. However, for those that travel a lot, have non-traditional hours, work at multiple locations, or need to be reached in the event of an emergency, call routing is the answer. This feature lets you set a list of numbers at which you can be reached. When someone tries to call you, the system will try each of those numbers before sending the caller to your voicemail.

3.    Email transcription of voicemails. Ever wish you could receive your voicemails as emails? You can. The voicemail transcription feature offered by VoIP phone systems will transform voicemail from audio to text. It's much easier to receive all your messages in one place, and with this feature you don't need to have a pen and paper on hand to quickly jot down a name or phone number.
