Automotive Intelligence Series: The Electric Revolution: What form will it come in?

WHERE:

Metro Toronto Convention Centre, John Bassett Theatre, Level 100, North Building

WHAT:

Electrification is still one of the hot topics in the automotive industry - whether it's in the form of pure electrics, conventional hybrids, plug-in hybrids or hydrogen fuel cells - the push for alternative powertrains is accelerating. A lot of that rapid movement can be attributed to the imminent government regulations related to fuel economy, but there is also a strong push from many consumers for eco-friendly options.

This diverse panel of industry experts will debate what type of electric urban revolution might be in Canada's forecast. Many automakers have set an actual year, such as 2020 for its pure electric plan to take shape, while others preach about hybrid or hydrogen fuel cell technologies. In addition, this discussion will look at Norway's world-leading electrification of its roads including incentives, infrastructure and mobility, and whether those actions and incentives could be applied to Canada.

Media and guests will have the opportunity to gain an understanding of various points of view including: charging infrastructure, city planning, the current rebate model, as well as the pros and cons of the current electrified technology.

Following the panel discussion AJAC will announce its Automotive Innovation Awards for Best Innovation, Best Safety Innovation, and Best Green Innovation. One-on-one interviews with all the panelists and award winners will follow.
