VIAVI Launches NITROtm Mobile, Delivering Intelligence, Assurance and Optimization Based on Geo-Located, App-Aware Insight

SAN JOSE, Calif., Feb. 20, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- VIAVI Solutions (NASDAQ: VIAV) today announced the introduction of NITRO Mobile, a family of solutions delivering network intelligence, assurance and optimization to service providers. As mobile operators confront traffic and bandwidth demand growth, increasing competition and the advent of new technologies including 5G and IoT, they require automated, virtualized and scalable means to manage their networks. NITRO Mobile answers the call with a subscriber-centric approach, delivering geo-located, app-aware insight for peak performance. According to Cisco's Visual Networking Index, global mobile data traffic is estimated to grow at a CAGR of 47 percent through 2021. In that timeframe, traditional mobile communications will increasingly contend for network resources with IoT devices, with both types of connections requiring different network characteristics. In response, mobile service providers must build ultra-dense, massively scalable, automated networks that can deliver intelligent, low-latency, high-bandwidth services.
