Inspiring Tomorrow's Innovators: In Celebration of National Engineers Week, Murata's Cheerleader Robots Will Perform at Innoventions® pavilion in Epcot® at Walt Disney World® Resort

SMYRNA, Ga., Feb. 16, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Launching a week-long celebration of National Engineers Week 2018, Murata is bringing its Cheerleader Robots to The SpectacuLAB interactive show at Innoventions® pavilion in Epcot® at Walt Disney World® Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. to help raise STEM awareness. The robots will perform a synchronized dance routine five times daily from Feb. 18-20 prior to every SpectacuLAB show. These robots use the latest sensing and communication technologies, as well as advanced group control technology, to achieve perfect stability and a flawless synchronized routine.

Murata's Cheerleader Robots Will Perform at Innoventions® Pavilion in Epcot® at Walt Disney World® Resort

The SpectacuLAB show, sponsored by Murata in collaboration with Disney Parks Live Entertainment and the national, award-winning non-profit Science from Scientists, opened in November 2017 and features demonstrations that bring to life the wonders of science and innovation. The interactive and entertaining experiments allow guests to discover how science and Murata technologies come together to create consumer products such as mobile devices, healthcare equipment and automotive electronics.

The Murata Cheerleader Robots are part of a robotic legacy created to showcase the company's products and technologies and give students a sense of the endless possibilities of technology. They represent several years of design and development, numerous trial and errors, and tireless efforts from a team of more than 20 engineers. The achievements of these engineers demonstrate that collaboration, perseverance and innovation are cornerstones to advancements in technology. During National Engineers Week, sharing the story of the Cheerleader Robots will encourage and inspire the innovators of tomorrow.

Once they have completed their performances at the Innoventions pavilion at Epcot, the Murata Cheerleader Robot team, along with scientists representing Science from Scientists, will visit elementary schools in the Orlando area to "cheer on innovators" ? and encourage students to think about furthering their studies in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.

"The SpectacuLAB has proven to be a tremendous opportunity to connect with our next generation of engineers and scientists," said David Kirk, President of Murata Americas. "Our Cheerleader Robots are sure to further entertain and inspire Disney guests and Orlando-area students ? all in the name of STEM."
